Our Clinic
At the Cheshire Bowel Clinic we’re able to investigate and manage your bowel symptoms. We’re led by Mr Paul Sutton, Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon, together with a multidisciplinary team of consultants, dieticians and advanced clinical practitioners.
We see private patients at The Wilmslow Hospital, and The Christie Private Care, part of HCA Healthcare UK, where we have access to a full range of diagnostic and surgical facilities.

How We Work
Our clinical review starts with telephone health screening with one of our advanced clinical practitioners or pathway managers to understand both your symptoms and your health. You will then be seen by one of our consultant specialists. We offer a number of appointments across the week and will see you within seven days of contacting us. Virtual and telephone appointments are also available upon request.
Initial Health Screening
A dedicated pathway manager or clinical practitioner discusses your symptoms and medical background by phone to arrange the most appropriate specialist appointment.
Consultant Examination
Seen in clinic within seven days. A consultant specialist conducts a comprehensive medical history, clinical examination, and recommends tailored investigations.
Results & Treatment Plan
You will be seen again to review test results and agree on a personalised treatment plan, with multidisciplinary support from specialist dietitians whenever beneficial.
biotech Diagnostic Investigations & Multidisciplinary Care
Our doctors will take a medical history, conduct a clinical examination, and make some initial recommendations, which will often include some tests. The most common investigations are blood tests, stool tests, and endoscopic examination of the gut with either a flexible sigmoidoscopy, gastroscopy, or colonoscopy. You will be seen again with the results of the tests for a treatment plan. If needed you will also have the opportunity to see other members of the team, for example our specialist dietitian.
Surgical Services
Our colorectal surgeons also undertake a range of general surgery and colorectal operations, including surgical treatment of hernia, haemorrhoids (piles), and other problems around the bottom.
Fees & Insurance
If you have health insurance, this would normally all be covered by your provider. If you pay for your own treatment, we have created packages of consultations and investigations to make accessing our services cost-effective – please see our Fees page for full details.
